The big polluters know we're starting to make ground in our campaign for a price on pollution and they think they can throw more money into advertising to silence our voices. This Sunday, in capital cities right across the country we must show that we won't be silenced.
All week, the tabloid papers have screamed that Cate Blanchett shouldn't voice her support for climate action, while the same papers have blindly reported billionaire mining magnates like Clive Palmer and Gina Reinhardt.
That's why it's so important we show up on Sunday. At family rallies across the country, we'll stand shoulder to shoulder for our vision of an Australia where our children can enjoy clean air and our workers can build clean energy technology. Please add your voice, and your family's, in Sydney:
Where: Prince Alfred Park (next to Central Station)
When: 11am June 5

We've just learned that anti-climate-action rallies are being planned for Sunday too. They'll say that tackling climate change will send our economy back to the stone age, that big companies should be able to pollute for free. They will say they represent the community, but we can prove them wrong. Let's make sure the evening news on Sunday shows that for every person who rallied against a price on pollution, dozens more Australians stood together to call for action.
While they're shouting angry slogans and misinformation, we'll hold a positive, family-friendly gathering to stand up for our vision for clean energy and preserving a safe climate for our kids.
Our events will have face-painting, balloons and ice-cream for the kids - and great live music before and after the rally. Think of it as a great impetus to get out of the house and start Sunday in beautiful surrounds with other families. Please click here to RSVP:

Hope to see you on Sunday,
the GetUp team.
PS - Bob Brown today issued this statement explaining why this Sunday is so important.
“The future of the Great Barrier Reef, the ski fields, Kakadu and the Eastern seaboard is at stake. The coal barons are in Canberra. Big polluters are lobbying. Help balance it up. For the sake of the Earth, join your nearest rally for climate action this weekend – as thousands of Australians tell Canberra the time for real action is now!” - Senator Bob Brown.
As the Independents and Greens continue crucial negotiations with the Government over how strong the price on pollution will be, every extra voice amplifies the case for strong action. Please click here to RSVP for Sunday's day of action: www.getup.org.au/sydneyclimateaction
